Hey Braden, you mentioned Matt Taven as part of your Worst Wrestler for 2019. Outside of MSG, how many matches of his did you watch last year? It’s an Honest question because my guess has to be 0. The guy wrestled an excellent 60 minute match in March with the crowd going crazy for false finishes in the final 30 minutes not to mention in May on back to back nights had really good title matches against PCO and Mark Haskins (which had the crowd going fucking insane at the finish but nobody probably saw it.). Yeah, ROH business was complete garbage but it’s not because of Taven’s work.

I get your priority is NXT but I’d put Taven’s 2019 ahead of someone like Balor’s in a heartbeat.

I think you make super valid points. I just don’t think “worst wrestler” means the same thing for everyone. The level of in ring incompetence is just one factor… Another factor is the TUNE OUT factor. For me, it was pretty high with Seth, not because he’s incapable in the ring, but because of bad booking and his online prickishness…Maybe for Braden, the shitty ROH product and boring character Taven possesses bledd into him not giving a shit about watching a whole 60 minute ironman match with him as a participant. There’s really no objectivity here. And that’s fine. That’s part of why I tune in and enjoy these type of shows.

That is absolutely the case, none of the guys listed (Except Elias) would actually qualify for worst wrestler as far as ring skills go. They aren’t the best either, but the worst guys don’t even make TV.
