Report: Brian Cage Signs Multi-Year Deal With All Elite Wrestling, Melissa Santos denies

Brian Cage was in action at tonight’s IMPACT Wrestling ‘Hard To Kill’ pay-per-view where he took on Rob Van Dam. The match was called off via referee stoppage and just mere hours after the match, SoCal Uncensored pushed out a report that Cage has signed a multi-year deal with All Elite Wrestling. The site notes that there is no exact start date for Cage but he’ll be with the company soon.

When Cage’s contract with IMPACT expired, IMPACT offered him a new deal and he had an offer from Ring of Honor but decided on AEW. SoCal Uncensored added that the Ring of Honor deal was very lucrative. Prior to AEW’s Double Or Nothing pay-per-view in May of 2019, Cage posted a photo onto his social media channels and asked his followers when and where they would like to see him versus Kenny Omega in a match. This past Summer, it was reported by PWInsider that Cage almost appeared at Double Or Nothing in the Casino Battle Royal but IMPACT contacted him and told him he could not compete on the show.

Cage was the company’s world champion at the time and he held onto that title until he was defeated by Sami Callihan who is defending the IMPACT World Title against Tessa Blanchard in the main event of Hard To Kill.

It is also noted in the report that Cage’s signing will not affect any of his scheduled independent dates. Cage returned to IMPACT Wrestling in 2018 and became X Division Champion and won the world title in 2019. Now, “The Machine” is headed to All Elite Wrestling.

Cage’s wife, Melissa Santos is denying that the performer has signed a contract:

Really?? How can you confirm something that isn’t true???? I’m his wife and I can CONFIRM, he hasn’t signed on any dotted line. @socaluncensored

From his wife’s twitter:

What I read from this is that the signing is close but it’s not done. That’s not as big of a story though. “Journalists” gotta “journalist”…
