Wai Ting and guest co-host Jon Pine review GCW Run Rickey Run from Feb. 15, 2020 headlined by Nick Gage vs. Rickey Shane Page in a Death Match for the GCW World Championship.

In the most violent show we’ve ever reviewed on this podcast, we take a deeper look into the growing popularity of the boundary-defying Game Changer Wrestling and the unique appeal of death match wrestling.

We discuss the storied RSP vs. Nick Gage rivalry; a provocative intergender death match between Mance Warner and Allie Kat; matches featuring Matt Tremont, Alex Colon, Joey Janela, Tony Deppen, Effy, Chris Dickinson, Jimmy Lloyd; and what would become death match legend Danny Havoc’s final in-ring performance before his untimely passing in May 2020.

Catching up on shows I missed over my vacation, so I just got to this.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t really enjoy the content reviewed but I did appreciate the knowledge that @JonPine brought. I don’t think I’ll ever understand the appeal of death match wrestling but it was interesting hearing about the culture and love for death matches from Jon.
