Rocky is the father of multi-time WWE World Champion, actor and producer Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. In December of 2019, Rocky Johnson released his autobiography titled, ‘Soulman: The Rocky Johnson’ story. It was also in December of 2019 that Johnson was added to the board of directors for the International Pro Wrestling Hall Of Fame.

Rocky Johnson became a mainstay in various territories throughout his time as wrestler and captured a handful of championships. He also had a run in the World Wrestling Federation and formally retired from in-ring competition in 1991. After retirement, Rocky’s legacy was carried on by Dwayne Johnson who went on to find a great deal of success in wrestling and in acting.

In 2008, Rocky Johnson went into the WWE Hall Of Fame along with his father-in-law “High Chief” Peter Maivia.

POST Wrestling would like to send our condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Rocky Johnson, real name ‎Wayde Bowles.

Obviously sad news, didn’t know he was in such bad shape. RIP.

Also, Rocky Johnson was his real name. While he was born Wayde Douglas Bowles, he did legally change his name and has been known as Rocky Johnson for most his life.
