Originally published at Sha Samuels agreed to a deal with WWE in 2019
Sha Samuels’ WWE run was delayed.
This past January, following an episode of NXT UK, Sha Samuels made the announcement that he officially inked a deal with WWE and would be joining the NXT UK roster. Samuels was last in action on the 10/6 NXT UK and picked up a win over Flash Morgan Webster. He’ll be in action on this week’s program for a rematch with Morgan Webster.
Ahead of the bout airing, Samuels spoke to ‘Metro’ and shared that back in 2019, he and WWE came to terms on a deal but he did not pass their medical test and was told he’d be called again months later. The COVID-19 pandemic came into play which further slowed down the process.
That’s been a detriment for a while important things in the world. I got in shape over lockdown. I thought, ‘You know what? I’m gonna email them, see what’s going down.’ I emailed them, came back for another week and got offered a job.
