The opening match of the 9/18 episode of Friday Night SmackDown saw Cesaro defeat Gran Metalik in singles competition. The bout was a preview of the tag match at Clash of Champions on 9/27 where Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura are set to defend the SmackDown Tag Team Championships against Lucha House Party.
