Braden Herrington and Davie Portman take a break from wrestling (and a galaxy far, far away) to dive deep into the dark underbelly of Gotham City to talk all about the “Caped Crusader”, the “World’s Greatest Detective”, the “Dark Knight”, the man they call… Batman, and they kick it all off by reviewing Tim Burton’s gothic campy take on the comic book superhero in Batman (1989).

The BDE break down the entire film and give thoughts on Michael Keaton’s portrayal of Bruce Wayne and Batman; and how Jack Nicholson almost turned down one of his favourite roles of all time. They chat grapple hooks, Batmobiles, Batwings, Batsuits, the random Prince soundtrack, Axis chemicals, Alfred Pennyworth, Mimes, and ask their listeners: “Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?”

Plus they take your feedback, and so much more!

The chest plate bullet catch is another BTTF crossover. Sad y’all missed it.

Also MASK OF THE PHANTASM AFTER BATMAN RETURNS! IT WAS IN THEATERS!

People can bring up Christopher Nolan all they want. This will always be the best Batman film to me. Just because WB were actually trying to have fun with these movies. Like this part

I really do not like this movie. I’m sure it was amazing at the time, but with hindsight it is not. I’ll get to the plot, but the main thing I always heard about this movie was “Jack kills it as the Joker.” I could not disagree more. Jack is a horrible Joker. He is saved from being the worst Joker because Leto. Keaton is okay in this one (he does better in Returns), but he cannot save this mess.

Biggest gripe: DO NOT GIVE JOKER AN ORIGIN. Joker is a force of nature. Joker is. No need for a why or who. And making him the Wayne’s killer is so stupid.

And to correct Braden: Batman was created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane, not just Bob Kane.
