WWE and Fox have announced a new agreement that will see additional content on the Fox platforms including this weekend’s WrestleMania shows.

WrestleMania will be available both nights on the Fox Sports and Fox NOW apps for $59.99 along with FoxSports.com.

The show will still air on the WWE Network.

FS 1 and Fox Deportes will be carrying the kickoff shows on Saturday and Sunday at 6 pm Eastern

WWE will have an additional presence with weekly Tuesday night programming on the Fox Sports platforms this spring, beginning tonight with the airing of the 2020 Royal Rumble. Tonight, also marks the return of WWE Backstage, with the hosts being joined remotely from their homes.

They will continue Tuesdays with one-hour edited versions of WrestleMania 31, WrestleMania 33, and WrestleMania 34 along with episodes from the WWE 24 and Ruthless Aggression series. There will also be a ‘Best of WWE’ series focusing on past and present talent.

Are any of these Fox methods of watching Wrestlemania similar to traditional PPV or could you just get the Network for 6 months.

If it’s all online only (except to order maybe) it doesn’t make much sense

For right now this seems silly. So I can pay $60 for what will potentially be the worst Mania ever. Or I can just buy the network for $10…When I saw this I thought oh maybe they are putting it up for free to test the platform…nope.

This is for more exposure so the casual or lapsed or non existent wrestling fans that are sports heads have the fox app and see a mania poster. they may not know even about the wwe network its price point or even that they want give their credit card Info to a company who presents a “fake” product. (to non wrestling fans wrestling is a 3 ring circus with con mans and charlatans.) At least fox is a known huge brand.

Also with no sports a sports junky may brake down and buy it and 60 dollars is no big money in sports world many sports heads are saving hundreds of dollars in arena tickets hundred or thousands in gambling throwing down a 60 bucks for 2 nights isn’t really insane and a small number will. I remember following WWE PPV buy rates for years 2014 and 2015 numbers went down a lot people online were saying wwe is done not understanding that people were watching on the network. and the Numbers they were getting for PPV consider 6 times more then the network and with no promo from WWE was fairly impressive IMO.

this fox deal will probably be a trial run to replace traditional tv PPV (i assume in the states wwe is still on PPV with cable providers. They are in Canada) so much like UFC and ESPN plus deal i assume.
