In an interview with Luke James Chats that was conducted prior to AEW All In, Bryan Danielson revealed that he was contacted by WWE after he filed for the ‘YES’ chant. The company told him that he was infringing.

Danielson responded by saying he’s not trying to sell anyone anything. His manager alerted him that the trademark was available so they made a play for it.

If it was Vince, maybe. When its a corporation like TKO, its not about being petty, its about Money/IP etc.

Yup. WWE has always been about maximizing profits. Except now the guys in charge of that are actually good at it.

I tell you why this is petty, they snatch this catchphrase away from Bryan Danielson eventhough this guy gave his health for the company. Almost had to retire for good. And this is what he gets. Profits yeah whatever but where is the smallest ounce of human decency?

That’s not what being petty is. Being petty is an emotional response where one party does something to another party because of a grudge, jealousy etc.

I would be shocked if the corporate side of TKO was emotionally hurt by Danielson, remember, Vince is gone. This is money/IP motivated.

If you want to talk the morality of doing this, that’s fair to discuss, but it’s not petty, it’s about money. Human decency isn’t typically a priority in corporate America among billionaires.

It’s never been easier to look things up.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be in the fact-checking thread being petty about little things John gets wrong.

I have a feeling you’re trying to prove me wrong, but I feel this proves me right. Intellectual
Property to billion dollar companies is hardly “trivial”, it’s what makes them money which is what they care about. I’m not defending it, but I’m acknowledging what it is.

Typically when someone has that level of concern with trivial matters it’s due to emotion and hence “trivial”, that’s not what this is.

It only seems trivial because it should have been done a decade ago. Whomever handles this stuff for TKO was probably shocked to learn that WWE “created” a well-known IP asset being used for the current AEW World Champion and didn’t own it.

The adults are running that part of the business now, the carnies can concern themselves with who the Intercontinental Champion is.

Exactly……a company like TKO doesn’t mess around as it’s not about petty BS, it’s all about the money. It’s not being run as one man’s emotional outlet anymore.

What money is TKO going to be making off of “Yes, Yes, Yes”?

Bryan isn’t making money off it either right now, nor has there been any signs he has attempted to. AEW isn’t making any money off it.

Fans chant it at Bryan. That’s it. TKO owning it, won’t stop that.

Davie and Braden speculated could this be a way for him to come back to WWE.

It’s all about owning IP, corporations like this care a lot about that. Please don’t shoot the messenger.
