Your BOLDEST predictions for 2024 contest (and winner from 2023)

What a year!

Last year I posted a contest for the top boldest prediction of the year. The goal was to be the boldest yet be true.

A few crazy ones certainly happened:

a) CM Punk gets fired from AEW after another fight and comes to WWE
b) Vince comes back in power to broker a sale and then is removed again
c) WWE is sold to same company as UFC
d) Mercedes Mone gets injured and doesnt show up on WWE or AEW
e) Tanahashi is the new president of NJPW
f) ALL IN sells 87K tickets
…and so on

looking back at last year we had some good ones

  1. Roman Reigns is a World Champ (WWE, Universal or both) on December 31

  1. WWE blows the momentum they had in Sami Zayn and he’s back to the midcard by end of 2023 (I pray I’m wrong)

Okay time to leap into 2024. The rules are simple

a. you get 5 predications - make them bold and true
b. its not how many you get right, but who has the single boldest true one
c. a combo is stronger but harder to nail (ie CM Punk is fired from AEW and appears on WWE vs CM Punk comes to WWE)
d. nothing too morbid (ie - predicting death)

Im going to end the entries by Jan 15th so feel free to chime in until then!

  1. WWE RAW signs a deal with WBD
  2. Roman Reigns remains champion on Dec 31 2024
  3. Okada and Giulia sign with WWE
  4. Mercedes returns to WWE
  5. MJF appears on WWE

Konosuke Takeshita will win the AEW World Title before December 31, 2024 @ 11:59pm

  1. CM Punk is a guest on The Jim Cornette Experience podcast. :rofl:

  2. All Japan Pro Wrestling will be purchased by WWE which paves the way for NXT Japan.

  1. Punk will not win either world championship
  2. Drew McIntyre will join AEW and appear at Wembley.
  3. All in will out sell last years event
  4. AEW will sign a deal with FOX Sport

I’ll go with my rep and go all TNA lol

  1. Mercedes Mone signs with TNA
  2. Okada becomes TNA World champion
  3. Young Bucks appear in TNA
  4. TNA sells 3k or more tickets for a ppv in 2024
  5. EC3 return to TNA while still being NWA Worlds champion

And for myself, will I attend more TNA shows then I did Impact this year? I’d have to hit 6 for that so we’ll see lol

  1. The Rock makes several appearances for AEW and tries to weasel his way into a power position with WBD.

  2. Brock Lesnar fights at UFC 300

  3. Smackdown moves to Tuesday on USA and NXT moves to Wednesday and we get the return of the weekly wars.

  4. Rampage is turned into a weekly ROH show following AEW’s new deal with WBD.

  5. The NWA folds and Tony Khan purchases the library.

Leaving AEW: Andrade, Ric Flair, Ricky Starks, Nyla Rose and Jake Hager.

Leaving WWE: Shayna Baszler, Cameron Grimes, Sheamus and the Good Brothers.

Vince wrestles Ric Flair at wrestlemania in a Hell in a cell match.

  1. Sami Zayn wins Royal Rumble and wins the WHC at WM.

  2. CM Punk vs Seth Rollins at WM is not for any belts and thus does not main event. Punk loses.

  3. Gunther loses IC title to Okada at WM.

  4. Vince finally moves on. Nick Khan gets promoted within TKO. Triple H gets Vince’s seat on the board and is named WWE President.

Those are the bold ones for me. And as I don’t see a general predictions thread, I’ll throw some obvious ones out there.

  1. Cody finishes the story.
  2. Bayley turns face brings her old music back.
  3. Gunther wins WHC at Bash in Berlin.
  4. Jade Cargill monster push.
  5. Backlash in France rivals Backlash in PR for crowd.

Also as longer term prediction, Trick Willams is WWE’s next John Cena.

  1. Cody doesn’t finish the story or win any Main Roster world championships in 2024 but he does win NXT championship
  2. Roman doesn’t drop the belt in 2024
  3. Logan Paul wins the WHC
  4. Braun Strowman leaves WWE in some fashion
  5. An international WrestleMania is announced for a future date

  1. Will Ospreay wins the AEW World Championship at Wembley Stadium
  2. AEW All In at Wembley Stadium is cancelled due to Taylor Swift concerts
  3. Bayley to Tag with Izzy Moreno in NXT
  4. CM Punk does over $10m in Merch sales for WWE
  5. A WWE PLE happens with all matches taking place in a UFC Octagon Ring

  1. Rock Vs. Roman happens, but isn’t for a title, rather, the whole head of the table storyline.
  2. Cody Wins a title at Mania, but isn’t the main event.
  3. Mercedes (Sasha) returns along side Bayley to take on Damage Ctnl.
  4. Okada signs with WWE.
  5. WWE Raw goes to Disney, on FX/Hulu, with ‘Specials’ on ESPN.

  1. MJF signs with WWE to be the biggest heel in the business. Will be a heel to AEW fans for obvious reasons, and will say he’s only in WWE for the money (which will heel him to WWE fans). He then goes on to face CM Punk and will use the line " we’ll Go & Headline Night 4 Of WrestleMania.

  2. Adam Cole wins the AEW world title and finally gets the recognition he deserves as the best wrestler in the world.

  3. Sasha re-joins WWE and teams with Bailey to be the biggest babyface women in wrestling.

  4. Chris Jericho is fired from AEW.
