Does Wai usually ask you to make it? I thought it was just something created by whomever every year. Not trying to step on your toes. Feel free to delete the thread if you have one planned.
BEST WRESTLER (Male) MJF (honorable mention: Gunther)

WORST FEUD Jimmy Uso turning on the Bloodline only to re-join the Bloodline (if that counts)
BEST NON-WRESTLING MEDIA The Iron Claw
MOST IMPROVED Shinsuke Nakamura Not as far as abilities go, but based on push and character change.
BIGGEST SETBACK AEW with the EVP/Punk/Jungle Boy Drama

WORST CHARACTER Austin Theory
BEST WEEKLY TV SHOW WWE Smackdown
BEST PPV Wrestlemania Night 1 (honorable mention: AEW All In)
WORST PPV N/A
BEST PROMOTION For the first time in years, I’m going with WWE.
WORST PROMOTION ROH
MATCH OF THE YEAR Sami & Kevin vs the Uso’s - WM Night 1
WORST MATCH OF THE YEAR Rhea vs Maxxine Dupri (would never have thought of it if not for @PJ-River, that match looked like a beginners wrestling school match)
It’s funny the number of people who list WWE as their best promotion and then award best wrestler (male and female), best tag team, best character and best on mic and best storyline and PPV to others.
It’s almost like it’s the best just because it’s popular but you don’t like the parts of it that much lol
No different than 2022 (or was it 2021 - fuzzy memory) when you could easily pick Roman and Sasha/Becky/Charlotte as the best wrestlers, but AEW as the best promotion.
Or pick a year from 1995-2000. My best male wrestler would almost definitely be in WCW, but best promotion from 1997-2000 would’ve been WWF. (Or ECW because I was a teenage smark).
I think it’s as simple as AEW’s highs are really high and their lows are very low. WWE had a more consistent year. I don’t think AEW had a great year at all.
It’s totally this. WWE more often than not had a good show. AEW might have had the better high marks if you look at single elements in a vacuum but WWE gave me more or less a 7.5-8/10 on most things. AEW couldn’t match that. It probably had more 10/10 elements but also a lot more on the other side.
I can’t think of a single thing AEW has done worse than WWE. RAW is unwatchable garbage still. Roman is barely there.
Jimmy Uso storyline makes no sense.
I don’t know - anyone who cheered the Miz and wanted him to face Gunther is what’s wrong with wrestling fans now I find. AEW was much better I thought this year with killer PPVs all year.
